How does Crossroads Care work?
Like most charities, we face a constant struggle to maintain sufficient levels of funding. Our costs have risen more than usual in recent years, mainly due to increased regulation which means more paperwork and more staff training.
Some of our core costs are covered by grants from the health and local authorities, supplemented by other grants for which we regularly apply.
But grants are never guaranteed and most must be applied for each year. Whether we get them, and how much we get, varies depending on budgets and Government policy. There is never enough money to help everyone, and we have no choice but to make a charge for many of our services in order to balance our books. Our charges would be higher without the generosity of the community and local businesses.
How can you help?
There are so many ways to help us to help carers. You will find some suggestions in these pages for:
Be a Volunteer!
You don't have to give money or run a marathon to help Crossroads Care.
We have volunteers who support our staff at our Day Care Club, and others who help with fund raising and with our IT needs and office administration.
We are looking for more volunteers to help with fund raising and with administration work. And we are always interested to hear from anyone who would like to become a trustee.
If you have some spare time and want to help us to give more support to local Carers, do get in touch -
